I don't think I've ever shared so many photos in one blog post...but here is our trip...which is totally fun for me to reminisce about since it really was the best weekend ever...
So this was the view from our room in the morning before we packed up and headed off to breakfast
And then we had to check the map to get to the museum since neither of us have any sense of direction (actually I totally posed this photo since I though it was one of those cool depth of field opportunities...Sean was the one who actually looked at the map to figure out where to go)
Then we got to the museum...where they didn't allow any photography which was torture since there were so many cool things. I wrote down names of artists and various pieces I liked but there's not a whole lot of information about them on the web since they're mostly instillation's that were recently created...but there is this one which is an astoundingly huge wall of silk flowers and leaves stitched together...and four paintings made by this artist...and that's all I could find on line...oh and so since I couldn't take photos inside I took a reflection one out on the patio
Then we had to stop at what I think is one of the most magical places in the world...a museum gift shop...it is where I learned about this artist when I picked up a set of note-cards and this artist when I drooled over all of her gorgeous jewelry (and picked out a small pair of earrings since I needed a souvenir, right?)..so here I am looking like a beaming dork after shopping
Then on to Timeless Treasures to sit on the floor for two hours playing with various letters...yeah I was in heaven...I think you can see three or four letters of my word...any guesses to what it is? I promise I'll share as soon as it is hung up
I wasn't sitting the whole time...it was back and forth...back and forth...back and forth again...let's just say I'm am lucky to have a very patient husband
Okay on to the weekend with our friends...more bocce ball photos...me drinking wine which truly enhanced my bocce talent, us screwing around for the camera, and Sean's super cool idea to take a photo of our reflection in the pallino...then we went off to dinner (even though we actually went to a restaurant to play bocce ball) and had the best burger and onions rings...I'll will be dreaming of those onion rings for a loooong time
On Sunday we drove up to the summit of Mount Diablo where I was totally dizzy and nauseous even though it was only 4,000 feet and I took Dramamine for the drive AND Sean only drove about 10 mph up the mountain...but I managed to smile out in the wind and clouds...then we drove back down a ways and I was much better
Then we went down further to some rock place called Rock City (are you starting to tell that I'm not a big nature kind of a girl?) where apparently you're supposed to climb around rocks which I would never do with my poor balance and complete lack of athleticism...instead I jokingly posed like I did and then walked around the entire time with my arms out to balance myself since I am always convinced that I'm going to fall...seriously Sean took at least a dozen photos of me walking around there and every one I have my arms out like that...oh yes, I am QUITE the hiker
Finally Hambly which, as I mentioned, was the coolest thing ever...such a friendly, wholesome company that rightfully takes a lot of pride in what they produce...so just a couple of photos...Allison and I since she was way too kind to take us around to see and learn about everything, and then a shot of the cans of ink and stacks of the new rub-ons getting ready to ship...it was a dream to be surrounded by all of it...
So that was the trip...sorry that it probably took you about as long to read about it as it took us to enjoy it in the first place. :)
